Bobbing for Apples Cider Cocktail

National Perrier Mixologist Lynette Marrero captures the essence of the season with Bobbing for Apples, a cocktail whose origin is influenced by the Haytime Switchel dating back to the late 1600s that was also popular among thirsty farmers in the 1800s at hay harvest time.

Ingredients

1.75 aged Rum

.75 oz apple cider (try with Blossom Nectar or Wild Washington)

.75 oz ginger shrub: made from apple cider vinegar, ginger, molasses

.25 oz date molasses

1 dash Angostura bitters

Shake all ingredients and strain into a highball glass. Add Perrier and stir. Garnish with ginger candy and an apple slice.
