It is always a pleasure to be invited to the Bottlehouse in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle. The garden is lovely, the music perfect and the cheesemonger is the best. TCW arrived for a tasting one lovely summer day, and these were the cheeses they had paired to our ciders. All were lovely.
1. Blossom Nectar Cider– Pave de Jadis – a wonderful fudgy texture with a clean mild flavor with hints of lemon and minerals.
2. Cherry Cider– Abbaye de Belloque w/ Black Cherry Compote – A French Pyrenees sheep’s milk cheese.
3. Wild Washington Apple Cider – Midnight Moon Gouda from Cypress Grove- a nutty and brown buttery up front with a long caramel finish.
